Irrigation Manager

 

Duties of an Irrigation Manager

  • This Position is in-charge of needed tools and materials for projects, including its inventory. This Position is also responsible for setting parameters on the use of materials and services within the approved financial budgets of the irrigation projects.
  • Irrigation Manager collates relevant information needed in initiating an irrigation project. This information may include a site’s historical data pertaining to an irrigation system’s condition or its spare parts condition.
  • Irrigation Manager counsels a client in terms of water usage that may increase a company’s productivity and decrease their cost.
  • This Position is in charge of evaluation and planning of a competent irrigation system for the company.
  • He also monitors the system of irrigation system in terms of its usability and its maintenance programs.
  • He is also in charge of directing needed workers in irrigation system projects.
  • Helps with snow removal during winter months 

Educational Requirements of an Irrigation Manager

  • Irrigation Manager should have completed his Bachelor’s Degree in any field related to Agriculture.
  •  They must also have certifications in terms of irrigation management systems and efficiency in customer service orientation.
  • They should also be endowed with mathematical abilities in terms of costing and problem solving. must also have certifications in VA of irrigation management systems and efficiency in customer service orientation.

  • 3 Years of Experience on commercial irrigation or 5 years on residential systems 

Irrigation Tech

 

Duties of an Irrigation Tech

  • Irrigation technician is to maintain the irrigation systems assigned to them.
  • This equipment can include sprinklers, water lines, pumps, suction devices, valves and other plumbing equipment.
  •  This equipment can sometimes be buried underground and must be excavated to be maintained, so irrigation technicians should be comfortable working with digging equipment such as backhoes, shovels and augers. 
  • The irrigation technician reports directly to the irrigation manager.
  • Helps with snow removal during winter months

Educational Requirements of Irrigation Tech

  • Valid VA Drivers License
  • Knowledge of traditional systems and 2 wire systems and diagnostics   
  • Knowledge of use of trenchers and Pipe pulling machine & Skid Steer
  • 3 Years experience of irrigation management  

Hardscape Foremen

 

Duties of Hardscape Foremen

  • Installs paver patios; stone, wood, or segmental block retaining walls.
  • Installs garden ponds. 
  • Installs low-voltage landscape lighting. 
  • Reads landscape design prints and implements the landscape construction plan. 
  • Understands elevations and uses this knowledge to execute the construction plan. 
  • Operates, proficiently, a variety of mechanical equipment, including bobcats, back hoes, dingos, plate compactors, stone grinders, drills, gas and electric chop saws, demolition hammers, and jack hammers. 
  • Operates automatic and stick shift vehicles, such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations. 
  • Routinely interacts with clients by way of introductions at the beginning of a job, answering questions, responding to client’s requests, making reasonable changes to the plan, and providing a walk-through at the job’s completion. 
  • Completes the necessary paperwork including timesheets, work orders, change orders, material requisitions, and client tickets. 
  • Plans and organizes the job, ensuring that sufficient resources and materials are available. Also ensures that job is completed in the most time-efficient manner. 
  • Manages a team of two or more employees, including handling personnel issues on site and training employees on policies and procedures. 
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment. 
  • Briefs supervisors and make recommendations on job status, personnel issues, or client concerns. 
  • Helps with snow removal during the winter months. 
  • Maintains assigned equipment and notifies mechanic of needed repairs.  

Educational Requirements of Hardscape Formen

  • Valid VA Drivers License
  • Candidate must be able to read and write   
  • Knowledge of standard construction practices, basic understanding of electricity Proficiently know how to operate a   Skid Steer
  • 3 Years experience of installing walls, pavers and basic excavation
  • Bi-lingual is a plus but required

Business Developer

 

Duties of Business developer  

 

  • General, broad knowledge of commercial landscaping and working with Property Managers, Store Managers, General Contractor personnel, sub-contractors, vendors, etc.
  • Sales & Create proposals for all Commercial Landscaping jobs
  • Network and find new business opportunities
  • Work closely with the Department Managers and Field Supervisors
  • Ensuring that quality standards are met and that customers are satisfied through proactive communication, relationship building and regular account visits
  • Selling enhancements to portfolio of accounts and coordinating the completion of the work with customers and team members
  • Proactively manages the business portfolio as a profit center; increases revenue, leverages resources and track expenses to ensure revenue, efficiency, and gross margin goals are met
  • Maintain monthly budgets and reporting results to management
  • Acting as liaison between clients and our company to ensure that receivables are current 

Educational Requirements of Business developer

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 or 4-year college degree in a related field and/or, have a minimum of 2-3 years landscape/horticulture experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of strong customer service, sales and communication experience, or combined comparable experience.
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Orientation toward teamwork and collaboration
  • Sales skills — the ability to earn and ask for referrals and opportunities, estimate and format proposals, present, follow-up and close sales
  • Time management and personal accountability
  • Strong success drive and career advancement objectives

Qualifications and Skills

  • Professional and verifiable experience in Commercial Landscape Estimating
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Bi-Lingual a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Maintenance Team Leader

 

Duties of maintenance crew leader

  • Should be familiar with all aspects of Landscape Maintenance tasks including cleanups, mowing, mulching, pruning, trimming, edging, weed whacking, bed maintenance, etc.
  • Operating all type of mowers  & other handheld equipment
  • Interacting with clients and management
  • Directing a crew of two to five employees.  

Requirements of maintenance crew leader

  • 3 Years Experience on commercial landscape crew
  •  Valid Drivers License
  • Clean Criminal Record
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Ability to keep assigned equipment and trucks clean at all times
  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
  • excellent organizational skills
